Working conveyor lines for Unity 6: belts and rollers that carry rigidbodies and the player, turntables and pushers that sort loads by kind, photo-eyes, hoppers that drop loads and bins that count them, each a component on a low poly prop, and a demo hall whose line sorts three kinds of load into three bins. Everything runs on power: a lever starts the line, an emergency stop halts it, and a full bin opens a door. Built-in and URP, no other package needed.

Made to be built with

  • Real physics, not paths. Loads are ordinary rigidbodies. A belt carries what lies on it, so loads bump, queue behind a turning turntable, slide off a pusher and tip off the end into a bin. Drop any prefab with a Rigidbody onto a belt and it rides.
  • Snap a line together. Every top is at 0.8 m, so belts, rollers, turntables and bins butt end to end. Place the next piece one length on.
  • Sort by kind, in the Inspector. A load's kind is a word on its Cargo, or its tag. A turntable or a pusher sends off the kinds you list, every other load, every load, or each one while a lever or photo-eye powers it.
  • Powered like the rest of your level. Each piece runs on a power field: a lever, a button or a full bin. A full bin or a photo-eye in turn powers a door, a light or a beacon. With nothing wired, a piece just runs.
  • It carries the player too. Stand on a belt and ride it with a CharacterController whose minMoveDistance is 0, as on the included player.
  • Events for everything. A load dropped, sent off, passed, taken or put in the wrong bin fires a UnityEvent with its kind.
  • Documented, with a changelog. Documentation/ has a README, a page for the line, the pages of the systems under it, and the changelog.
  • Support by email at spyridwn.pd@gmail.com.

The pieces

  • Belts and rollers: a 2 m and a 4 m belt and a 2 m roller line. Each runs at any speed, either way, its rollers turning in step.
  • Turntable: takes each load to its middle and turns the ones it sorts off to one side, holding the belt behind it while it turns.
  • Pusher: a ram beside the belt that shoves the loads it sorts off the far side.
  • Hopper: drops your loads onto the line in turn or at random, waiting while its chute is full.
  • Photo-eye: sees loads go by, counting them, and pulses power with each one.
  • Bin: takes and counts the loads that land in it, counts any wrong ones, and lights green and powers what needs it when full.
  • Loads: a parcel, a tote and a crate, three kinds to sort.

Sorting Floor

A warehouse hall with one line. Pull the lever and the hopper starts dropping parcels, totes and crates. The pusher sends the totes into their bin, the turntable turns the crates onto rollers down to theirs, and the parcels ride to the end. Fill all three bins and the beacon spins and the door opens. The red button is the emergency stop.

Under the line

Interaction, levers and buttons, power, doors, story beats and three save slots come from Escape Puzzle Kit. The line saves with the rest: whether each belt runs, and what each bin has counted.

With Escape Puzzle Kit

The package has a second package inside: the line built on Escape Puzzle Kit's own scripts. Import it into a project with the kit and the line runs on the kit's power, so a kit generator runs the belts and a full bin unlocks a kit door.

The look

Low poly and stylized, matching Escape Puzzle Kit and the Facility's industrial props, at real scale. The textures are made in code and share one 2048 atlas. Sounds: PSX Horror SFX by heyheythere (PSX Horror SFX).

Unity 6.3

A .unitypackage: the scripts in their own assembly (HeyHeyThere.ConveyorSystems), the props as prefabs with colliders and their clips, the package's shader for Built-in and URP, Sorting Floor, the props gallery and the documentation. Tested on both pipelines: every conveyor in the gallery carrying a load, and Sorting Floor run until every bin is full, with nothing sorted wrong.
