PSX Tech Base Kit - Modular Retro FPS Base Level
Also in the PSX Retro FPS Bundle ($19.99) and the PSX Bundle ($69.99).
A modular PS1-style military base for your retro shooter. 127 pieces that snap to a 2 m grid: tan tech panels over a pipe trim, brown plating, an olive armoury, computer walls and the base's map, slime and lava pits, arenas two storeys high with ledges, a ramp and a lift. Sliding doors, three key doors with their card readers and keycards, a force field, a secret wall, a teleporter and the gateway out; medkits, armour, powerups, ammo, crates and explosive barrels. Low-poly, point-filtered, in GLB, FBX and OBJ, with a Godot addon, a Unity package and a level to walk and solve.
Try it first: click Run asset pack above and walk into Sector 7: the red keycard waits on a ledge in the hub, up the lift. The red door opens on the reactor and the blue keycard behind its force field, the blue door on the stores, where a hidden button opens the secret wall on the yellow keycard, and the yellow door up on the ledges on the gateway. WASD and the mouse, E uses things, P for the PS1 shader. Or build a base room with PSX Tech Base Kit Free: 16 pieces from this kit, free under CC BY.
What's inside
- Floors (12): bolted tech plates, brown tiles (one cell bloody), hex plates, tread plate, a grate, concrete and a hazard edge; slime and lava 0.5 m under the floor and the banks down to them.
- Ceilings (4): grey panels, light panels, strip lights and a vent.
- Walls (30): tan tech panels over a pipe trim, plain, grimy, bloody, scorched, slimed and striped; light tubes, vents, pipes, cables and red alert panels; brown plating, I-beam supports, olive armoury plates, a wall of crates, rust and bronze; computer walls and the base's map; upper walls for an arena's second storey, a half wall, tech and brown doorways, an opening, a window, a lit pickup alcove, a hangar wall and posts.
- Columns and stairs (11): a tech column, a 6 m arena column, a light column and a ceiling girder; a ledge a storey up, a railing, a catwalk over a pit, a ramp and stairs a storey up, a step block and a step.
- Doors and keys (13): sliding doors, red, blue and yellow key doors, their card readers and keycards, a hangar shutter that rolls up, a force field and a secret wall.
- Mechanisms (9): a wall button, a lever, a pressure plate, the gateway's control panel, a lift, a teleporter, the gateway, a piston crusher and a fan pit.
- Pickups and crates (22): small and large medkits (a green cross), a health orb, green, yellow and red armour, a damage boost and a shield core that turn over their pads, a backpack, an item plinth; tech crates, an ammo crate and explosive barrels; and from PSX Sci-Fi Weapons its energy and plasma cells, power packs, rail rounds, scatter charges, a cell crate and a charging rack.
- The base (26): a computer bank, a control console, caged and hanging lights, exit, danger, toxic, arrow, sector and gateway signs; and from our Sci-Fi Station, Factory and Puzzle Machinery kits wall fans, vents, junction boxes, cable runs, pipes, a pipe rack, valves, gauges, a storage tank, an emergency light, a body bag, gore and blood.
- The moving pieces: the doors, the readers, the shutter, the force field, the secret wall, the button, the lever, the plate, the lift, the teleporter, the gateway, the crusher, the fan and the powerups. The moving parts are separate objects, so your code can drive them too.
- 19 working machines in the demo (PSX Puzzle Machinery's scripts): each reader opens its door while it has its card, the button raises the lift, the lever drops the force field and powers the teleporter, a hidden button opens the secret wall, and the panel opens the gateway. Wired by what needs what.
- A demo level to walk and solve: an arrival bay, a two-storey hub round a slime pit, a reactor over lava, the stores, a secret room and the gateway room.
- 42 seamless textures (Retro FPS Textures' tech, metal, computers, floors, ceilings, slime and lava; 128 px a metre) as their own PNGs, for your own geometry, and an icon per piece.
- One 2048x2048 texture atlas for the whole kit, shading baked into the vertex colours, real-world scale.
Made to go with our other kits
The kit is on PSX Hospital Kit's 2 m grid and 3 m storeys, like our other kits: their walls meet and their doors fit each other's doorways. Its walls are Retro FPS Textures' tech base, so the textures you paint your own walls with match it. Arm the player with PSX Sci-Fi Weapons or PSX Firearms, and fill the base with PSX Monsters.
Godot 4.3 to 4.7
An addon with a scene per piece: box colliders on every part (the doorways leave the way through clear, a door's and the lift's move with them, the ramp climbs in steps), an AnimationPlayer where it moves, machine.gd on every piece that works, one lit material so your lamps fall on it, and a gallery with the level to walk and solve. Tested on Godot 4.3 and 4.7.
# reader, door: the pieces in your level
door.needs = [door.get_path_to(reader)]
The full PS1 look
The kit is made for PSX Look, our PS1 shaders for Godot 4: wobbling vertices, warping textures, 240p, dither and 15-bit colour, over your level in one line. The captures on this page are the kit through it.
Unity 6.3
A .unitypackage with a prefab per piece (colliders, animation clips and Machine.cs on the machines), a PSX unlit shader for Built-in and URP, a demo scene and the level to solve.
Other engines
GLB, FBX (animations as takes) and OBJ, one file per piece, with the atlas, and the whole kit in one .blend with the demo level as its own scene.

Use in unlimited commercial and non-commercial games, apps and videos. No attribution required. Don't resell or redistribute the models, textures or scripts themselves.
Made with AI assistance (code, text, models and textures, all generated by code), checked by eye and tested in Godot 4.3 and 4.7 and Unity 6.3.
Inspect before placing: the downloadable Godot gallery has a clear, fog-free catalog. Drag to turn, use the arrows to browse, or press A to see the whole collection. The lit level overview helps you see the layout; W enters the atmospheric walk with readable puzzle instructions.
