Health, mana and boss bars that already behave like a game's. Drop a PixelBar node in, pick a style and a fill, and set its value: it flashes when hit, leaves a trail that drains, pulses when low, and splits into segments if you want. Hearts, orbs and cooldown rings come with it, in the same pixel art as Pixel UI.

Try it first: click Run asset pack above: a full HUD runs in your browser. Hit, heal, cast and strike the boss, and switch between the eight frame styles.

What's inside

8 frame styles: wood, stone, sky, forest, royal and ember (the six Pixel UI colours), gilded gold and a cyan sci-fi line. Each comes in 6 shapes: a bar, a thin bar, a vertical bar, a boss bar with a skull plate, a round orb and a cooldown ring.

8 fills: health, mana, stamina, XP, shield, rage, magic and poison, shaded for every shape, plus a pale damage trail and a glass glint for the orbs.

Hearts, shields and stars: full, three-quarter, half, quarter and empty hearts, mini hearts, and shields and stars by halves. PixelHearts lays out a row from one value and blinks the ones a hit empties.

PixelBar, a TextureProgressBar that dresses itself from the kit:

  • Fill runs over the track only, so a boss bar's plate never swallows its low values.
  • On a hit the fill flashes white and a trail holds, then drains down to the new value.
  • Low-health pulse below a share you set; segment marks in as many parts as you like.
  • An orb's liquid shows a lit surface line as it drains.

A Godot Theme per style, so a plain ProgressBar takes the frame too, with a variation per fill (HealthBar, ManaBar, XPBar...).

195 sprite sheets for any engine: every style's bar filling up and taking a hit, every orb filling, and a heart breaking, healing and beating, indexed with frame size and speed in sheets/sheets.json. All parts are plain PNGs too, with their 9-slice margins in slices.json.

Unity version as its own download: the same art as sliced sprites, a PixelStatBar component with the same hit flash, trail, pulse and segments, PixelHearts, and a demo scene.

Compatibility

  • Godot 4.3 to 4.7, tested on both ends.
  • Forward+, Mobile and Compatibility renderers.
  • Unity 6.3 or later, UGUI.

Install

Copy addons/pixel_bars/ and set Default Texture Filter to Nearest. Add a PixelBar node from Create New Node, or set a Theme from themes/ on your ProgressBars. addons/pixel_bars/README.md has the details.

Want to try it first? Pixel Bars Free has the wood style, health, mana and stamina, the hearts and both nodes.
