A rigged PS1-style monster for your horror game: a gaunt thing 2.3 m tall, hunched, its arms hanging to its knees on three blades a hand, an eyeless head on a jaw that drops wide. It lurks, stalks, runs bent double, rears up to slash with one hand and then the other, flinches when hit, and drops to its knees to fall on its face. Low-poly, point-filtered, in GLB, FBX and OBJ, with a Godot addon and a Unity package ready to drop in.

Try it first: click Run asset pack above to turn it about and play its animations.

The PSX Bundle: from 8 to 31 October, all our PSX packs are in one bundle for less than a third of their price.

What's inside

  • The stalker, 1,118 triangles on one 512x512 texture atlas, shading baked into the vertex colours, real-world scale.
  • 6 animations: idle, walk and run loop; attack, hit and death play once. The walk and run play in place.
  • An icon, 256x256 PNG with transparency.

Built like the PlayStation built them

It is rigid parts (a head and its jaw, a torso, an upper arm, a forearm, a clawed hand) that turn at their joints, the way survival horror monsters were made in 1996, so it bends the way those did. It comes rigged all the same: one mesh on a skeleton of 16 bones, every part weighted whole to its bone, bound in a T-pose with its bones named as Mixamo names them (the jaw one more), so your engine animates it like any rigged character and your code can turn its head toward the player.

Godot 4.3 to 4.7

An addon with its scene: its skinned mesh on a Skeleton3D, a box collider on each bone that moves with it, an AnimationPlayer with its six animations, one lit material so your flashlight falls on it, and a gallery.

# stalker: an instance of props/stalker.tscn
stalker.get_node("AnimationPlayer").play("run")

Unity 6.3

A .unitypackage with its prefab (a box collider on each bone, and an Animator on an Animator Controller: idle, walk, run, attack, hit and death, with its walk and run speeds to drive its in-place gaits), a PSX unlit shader for Built-in and URP, the icon as a UI sprite, and a demo scene. It is Humanoid, so any Humanoid animation plays on it, Mixamo's and the Asset Store's included, and its own on any Humanoid character.

Other engines

GLB (animations as clips), FBX (animations as takes) and OBJ, with the atlas, and a .blend: a skinned mesh on its armature, bound in a T-pose with Mixamo's bone names.

More to meet

PSX Creatures is 13 more in the same look: zombies, a crawler, a dog, giant spiders and survivors. PSX Look is our PS1 shaders for Godot 4, and PSX Horror SFX the growls and screams to go with it.
