A modular PS1-style abandoned school for your survival horror game. 311 pieces that snap to a 2 m grid, in 19 rooms: classrooms, corridors lined with lockers, a two-storey gym, the toilets, a stairwell, the science lab, the library, the canteen and its kitchen, the music room, the staff room, the nurse's, the boiler room and the office by the front doors, with the desks, chalkboards, shelves, benches, instruments and mess to fill them. Low-poly, point-filtered, in GLB, FBX and OBJ, with a Godot addon, a Unity package and a level to walk and solve.

Try it first: click Run asset pack above and walk the level in your browser: the front doors are on their maglock and the power's out in the new wing. The library key is in the nurse's room, the boiler room's on the library desk, a fuse on a lab bench; fit it in the boiler room's fuse box and the door release in the office lets the doors go. WASD and the mouse, E uses things, F for the torch, P for the PS1 shader. Or furnish a classroom with PSX School Kit Free: 15 pieces from this kit, free under CC BY.

Made to go with PSX Hospital Kit and PSX Apartment Kit

The kit shares PSX Hospital Kit's and PSX Apartment Kit's 2 m grid, 3 m storeys, doorways and stairs, so their walls meet, their doors fit each other's doorways and their stairwells stack: a school with a hospital wing, or the flats across the playground. Their samplers, PSX Hospital Kit Free and PSX Apartment Kit Free, are free. Its textures are PSX Textures'. Its lab, canteen counter, nurse's room, reception and boiler are PSX Hospital Kit's, its furniture and clutter PSX Furniture's, its kitchen and rotten food PSX Kitchen and Food's, its flashlight, notes and save room PSX Horror Props', its dolls, corpse and police tape PSX Horror Props II' and its fuse box PSX Puzzle Machinery's, as they are.

Godot 4.3 to 4.7

An addon with a scene per piece: box colliders on every part (a doorway's leave the way through clear, the stairs have one per step, a door's move with it), an AnimationPlayer where it moves, machine.gd on every piece that works, one lit material so your flashlight falls on it, and a gallery with the level to walk and solve. Tested on Godot 4.3 and 4.7, on Forward+, Mobile and Compatibility.

The full PS1 look

The kit is made for PSX Look, our PS1 shaders for Godot 4: wobbling vertices, warping textures, 240p, dither and 15-bit colour, over your level in one line. The captures on this page are the kit through it.

For the sound of it, PSX Horror SFX has footsteps on concrete, tile and metal, creaking doors, creatures, stingers and the typewriter save, PS1-style (30 free).

For its menus, PSX Horror UI is a PS1 survival horror menu kit for Godot 4: inventory, examine, map, files and typewriter save.

For its effects, PSX FX is 45 PS1-style effects with a Godot player: muzzle flashes, impacts, blood, fire and explosions.

For its walls and floors, PSX Decals is 115 PS1-style decals: blood, bullet holes, cracks, grime, graffiti, signs and posters.
